This is a very scarce, original 1904 Cottage City MA Martha's Vineyard booklet,
Gems of Cottage City, Vineyard Haven, Innisfail and Edgartown
.
Copyrighted 1904 by J.N. Chamberlain, Cottage City, Mass. Engraving and Printing by The Federal Engraving and Publishing Co, Boston, Mass. There is virtually no text. The booklet contains 46 nearly full page photographs, one or two to the page, of various sites on Martha's Vineyard in the late 1800's and very early 1900's. Most photos are captioned. Please see the complete list of captions of all photos below.
Measurements: Approximately 9 1/4" x 6 1/4". Approximately 40 unnumbered pages.
Condition: Short tears to front cover. Bent corners to cover and some pages. Rear cover is intact. Binding is torn across the top but the string holding the cover and pages together is intact and holding. Pages are generally clean with no tears. Approximately one third of the pages have a light water stain along the lower left edge.
